The Trinbago Progressive Association (TPA) of the U.S.A., Inc was founded in 1989 by the late Dr. George Oliver Phillips and a small group of compatriots. The TPA is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in New York City.
The organization identifies and provides needed services to enhance the quality of life of individuals and families living in the New York Metropolitan area and institute and organize cultural and social programs to advance the people of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean residing in the New York area.
The organization also seeks to recognize and initiate projects to aid the islands of T&T in the areas of health, education, and social welfare.
The TPA has sponsored teams of healthcare providers and professionals on ten (10) Medical Mission trips to Trinidad and Tobago and is now preparing for its 11th Mission trip, scheduled for May 13 to May 27, 2024.
On every occasion, we provided free medical screenings as well as intensive education and information on dental care, diabetes management, high blood pressure, cholesterol monitoring, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS awareness testing.
